About ApplianceIQ
We track what Canadian retailers actually charge for appliances
An independent Canadian price-tracking and specification service for major home appliances.
Appliance shopping is messy. We make it make sense.
ApplianceIQ is built by appliance-industry professionals with more than 30 years of combined experience across retail, sales leadership, store operations, pricing, process improvement and business systems.
We combine that real-world experience with pricing observations collected directly from Canadian retailers, manufacturer documentation and retailer data. As ApplianceIQ expands into the United States, the same evidence standards will follow us across both markets.
Our specialty is product intelligence. We organize scattered information, track prices and clearly label what manufacturers have verified, what retailers have reported and what still needs confirmation. When sources disagree, we flag the conflict and investigate it—because guessing is easy, but getting it right is more useful.
Advertising and some retailer links help fund ApplianceIQ. They never buy a better ranking, alter our comparison logic or influence our editorial conclusions.
Clear evidence. Honest comparisons. Smarter appliance decisions.

How we make money
ApplianceIQ may earn compensation when you click some outbound store links or interact with sponsored, partner, or lead-generation offers.
Affiliate relationships do not affect rankings, ordering, or which retailer we show as cheapest. Our ranking score takes no monetisation input at all, and the code that sorts and selects products never reads commission, partner status, or whether an affiliate link exists. Whether a retailer is an affiliate partner is consulted at one point only — after a product has already been chosen and ranked — to decide which outbound link to use. The methodology page lists every input that is used.

Who writes and reviews the guides
ApplianceIQ Editorial Team
The ApplianceIQ Editorial Team prepares buying guidance from ApplianceIQ's directly collected Canadian price observations and reviewed manufacturer and retailer information. ApplianceIQ's guides draw on price data the service collects directly — daily multi-retailer Canadian appliance prices, tracked since July 2026, currently covering 108 models with at least two weeks of history from two or more retailers. ApplianceIQ does not physically test appliances or operate a test lab.

What our advice is based on
We are not a review site and we do not run a test lab — no stopwatches, no dishwasher graveyard in a warehouse somewhere. What we have instead is first-hand observation of the Canadian market: we record what appliances actually sell for, at multiple retailers, every day.
We currently hold at least two weeks of daily price history from two or more Canadian retailers for 108 appliances, and some price history for 1,693 in total. Every one of those 108 models can be found through the category pages on this site — we do not publish a coverage figure you cannot click through and check.
Being straight about the limits: we began recording daily prices on 2026-07-03, so the deepest history we hold for any single model is 56 days. Where we describe a price as high or low, that judgement is made against the window we actually have, not against a multi-year record we do not.
How the price data is collected
We collect publicly listed prices from Canadian retailer websites. New lookups are queued and results gathered throughout the day, and once a day those observations are compiled into the daily price history behind our charts. Observations are matched to a specific model number, screened for implausible values, and only then become eligible to display.
Prices change without warning and a listing can be wrong. Always confirm the final price with the retailer before you buy. Read the full methodology.
What we do, and what we do not do
We do
- Track daily prices for the same model across multiple Canadian retailers.
- Reconcile manufacturer specifications against retailer listings and show where each figure came from.
- Say plainly when we do not have enough data, rather than filling the gap.
We do not
- Test appliances physically, or run a laboratory.
- Sell appliances, hold stock, or handle delivery and installation.
- Let a retailer pay for a better ranking or a better position.
